The new X-VIEW Panoramic Technology by 3xLOGIC allows the VIGIL series of video management solutions to record, display and manage a wide variety of the newest megapixel panoramic video from well-known manufacturers such as Arecont and IQinVision as well as our own VISIX brand.

There are two basic styles of panoramic video including verticle and horizontal formats. In all cases, the video quality is extrememly high due to the use of megapixel cameras.

360 Vertical - Full Coverage with Built-in Dewarping

Our 360-degree vertical solution is designed to provide visual coverage of an entire room from a single camera.

The built-in VIGIL X-VIEW technology allows you to display the video as shown below with a raw unformatted video (circle) along with three camera views, as two 180-degree strips or as four independent views. Each subview (smaller camera display) can come from anywhere within the entire 360-degree view with full zooming capability. This works with both live and stored video the same way.

The image below is a screen-shot using an Arecont 2 megapixel camera with our 360-degree lense and our VIGIL solution. This is an extrememly cost effective method of covering an entire room and higher resolutions are available. (Click for larger image)

Each of the three independent picture frames (views) can easily pan, tilt and zoom through out the entire 360-degree panoramic view using a variety of methods including:

• a simple click and drag with your mouse while zooming in and out with your mousewheel
• using the onscreen PTZ controller
• using a KBD-300 Pelco controller
• or any other joystick type control

How we compare to the competition

1) 3xLOGIC allows you to use cameras from other manufacturers. We do not lock you into using our proprietary solution.

2) Our solutions are hybrid, meaning you can also record your existing analog cameras without the need for expensive and clunky video servers for conversion.

3) All video channels support full two-way audio. The microphone and speaker can be located at the camera, or as is most often the case, located elsewhere in the room closer to the action.

4) Dewarping does not need to be done in the camera allowing a lower cost of hardware. All viewing and playback software has full dewarping and video management built-in.

5) All VIGIL solutions provide significant storage capacities as well as the use of our optional proprietary AZTECH codec for additional low-loss compression and effective storage. Unsecure storage of video at the camera is not required.

180 & 360 Degree Horizontal Panoramic

VIGIL by 3xLOGIC fully supports a wide variety of the best large format panoramic megapixel video cameras from manufacturers such as Arecont, IQinVISION and our own VISIX camera line.

Panoramic video comes in many styles and resolutions including cameras able to capture a full 180 and even 360-degrees in extrememly high resolution.

The use of a single camera to capture an entire scene is not only useful, it is extremely cost effective in comparison to the standard NTSC or PAL cameras in use today.

The picture below is an actual image recorded from an Arecont 180-degree camera at 12.8% of original size (the blue box). Superimposed over the image is the size (resolution) of other technologies in comparison.

Consider that it would take an astounding eighty-eight (88) standard resolution security cameras to provide the same coverage. Click on the image for a slightly larger version.
